International day of education
Today, 244 million children and youth are out of school, and 771 million adults are illiterate. (Source : Unesco)
It is therefore essential to implement initiatives aimed at improving access to education.
OLVEA’s Foundation is committed to carrying out actions in the various countries where the Group is established:
📚 Literacy campaigns in Burkina Faso since 2013: training of 900 women in reading, writing and arithmetic to encourage and increase their empowerment and financial autonomy;
📚 Distribution of 800 school kits in Mauritania in 2022: support for poor families, to encourage the schooling of children and limit school drop-out;
📚 Sponsorship of 64 high school graduates in Fécamp (France) since 2013: contribution to the financing of their first two years of higher education and tutoring support by a practicing professional, to support the talents of tomorrow.
Education raises awareness and allows us to coexist more harmoniously: it’s a key element in building more resilient and sustainable societies.
